Construction is nearing completion for a $5.7 million expansion and renovation project for Blue Ridge Electric at their Westminster location. The Trehel/RSCT Design-build team provided design and construction services for a new building and renovation of three existing facilities, along with sitework for additional paved equipment storage and parking, landscaping and new fencing. A significant challenge for the project was working on four separate buildings on site while Blue Ridge Electric remained fully operational.
The new 13,000 square-foot Operations Center features a dispatch room, training and community room, kitchen, offices, and additional support spaces. Renovations and additions to the existing warehouse include new restrooms, outage support with special storage spaces, finish updates and new metal roofing.
Also, included in the scope of work, there was an addition to the existing transformer building that features a new testing lab. The existing truck shed was renovated to create a new enclosed service bay for maintenance vehicles.
Christine Tedesco, the owner of RSCT architecture + design, provided architectural design services for the project. Our Trehel construction project team consists of Bryan Yoder, Senior Project Manager, and Max Couch, serving as Project Superintendent.
