For the past several years our Trehel team has been honored to partner with the great folks of the Oconee County School District on a variety of school projects. The trend continued once again this year with addition and renovation projects at Fair Oak and Ravenel Elementary Schools.
The $7.6 million Fair Oak project involved extensive renovations to the current facility. From wall removal and cosmetic changes to new doors and windows the structure received many upgrades. Additions to the facility included a cafetorium, commercial kitchen, gymnasium, and new education wing.
The $7.1 million Ravenel project scope featured many of the same upgrades and changes that occurred at Fair Oak. One significant difference was the comprehensive site work for the new addition, playground area, and parking. Work involved removal of more than 50,000 cubic yards of dirt and replacing the existing infrastructure. Also, during renovations, the entire facility was fitted with a new fire suppression system.
Both of the projects initially started last year and were phased to have minimum impact on student life and school functions.
